All the sculptures are made using recycled sheet metal and other elements by our team of African artists in Kenya.
The process begins with a sketched design and then a wire framework is created. Selected pieces of metal are then welded to the frame to build on the sculpture. The completed sculptures are hand finished in the UK; natural products have a lacquer applied while other sculptures are chromed or bronzed by a powder coater.
Sculptured can be situated either indoors or outdoors although some finishes may require more regular maintenance if placed outside.
It could take between four and twelve weeks depending on our forward stock production. Ask a member of the team for further details.

All of our sculptures are made of recycled metal which can oxidise over time and therefore need regular maintenance by the purchaser to retain the original finish. Timings for re-coating will vary depending on the particular finish on the piece, see guidelines below.
Natural finish – all sculptures are finished with a clear lacquer to protect them from the environment if placed outside. Lacquer can be purchased at our showroom from £9.95 and we recommend that the sculpture is re-lacquered every nine to twelve months.
Chrome/Bronze Finishes – these sculptures can be placed outside but will eventually need to be re-coated. Powder coating is a specialised operation and needs to be completed by a competent technician. Pangea Sculptures can supply a price on application and arrange for this to be carried out.
Hand Painted sculptures will also need to be repainted at some point, depending on the environment where the sculpture is located and Pangea Sculptures can supply a price arrange this service for you on request.
Glitter – sculptures with a glitter finish are suitable for indoor use only.
We do not recommend locating any sculpture in water. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to maintain the finish on the product.
