Handling deliveries:

Pangea Sculptures has suspended all deliveries until further notice so as to protect both our customers and employees.

Hygiene is a top priority for all of us, however, once a parcel, boxed, bagged or on a pallet, leaves our warehouse or showroom, we cannot account for how the package is handled and so we have suspended all deliveries. Here is some guidance on handling any deliveries in line with WHO and the UK government.

Handling your delivery – whilst it is unlikely that you could contract Covid-19 from a package, we would advise that you take the following precautions whilst handling ANY parcel delivered to your home.

  • Do not sign for any delivery using a pen or electronic keyboard presented to you by the delivery person unless your hands are protected with gloves.
  • Ensure you keep some disposable gloves by the door so that you can pick up the parcel and move it into your home.
  • Keep the gloves on if you intend to open the package immediately.
  • Dispose of the gloves and packaging immediately after opening.

Opening your package:

The virus is said to live on cardboard for up to 24 hours and on some plastics up to 72 hours. If you receive a parcel in a poly bag then we would suggest storing it for at least 24 hours before opening it. The use of gloves would be recommended at this stage. The virus is said to live on steel for up to 72 hours – we would strongly advise taking precaution when handling metal. Taking in to account the timings mentioned above this would mean leaving any parcel for a 24 hour period before opening it.

Pangea Sculptures will continue to monitor the ongoing Covid-19 situation and will work to the guidelines and recommendations made by WHO, NHS and the Government. We will endeavour to proceed with all customer orders applying the upmost care and attention when it is safe to do so.
