Height 1ft 6in

The baboon sculpture is the smallest in the family of monkeys in the Pangea collection. Translated as Mbuzi in Swahili, its distinctive face is brought to life in the skilful welding of the metal, accentuating their tiny but watchful eyes. Smaller pieces of material create a curling tail and the flexible fingers and toes. Baboon sculptures sit upright with each possessing an inquisitive nature displayed by expressive hand positions. They are perfect for purchasing on a shelf or bookcase or look equally attractive sat on the floor beside a table or chair.

Although not obligatory, we recommend the use of fixing rings welded to the feet of the sculpture and ground spikes to increase the stability of the product when placed on various surfaces outdoors. This sculpture can be placed outside but will need relacquering over time to maintain a high-quality finish. Other finishes are available upon request.

The baboon sculptures stand at approximately 1ft 6in high and are made from recycled metal, hand welded and then coated with a protective lacquer. The sculptures will need to be maintained and recoated from time to time to retain the finish and prevent oxidisation of the metal. This is particularly important in sculptures with fine details such as slender paws or long tails as these may oxidise more quickly.

The Pangea baboon sculptures are available in a variety of poses, some of which will work within this theme, but look equally charming as individual animal sculptures.  The baboons are some of our more compact sculptures and would look striking on a hall table or by the front door where they can be admired by visitors. As with all of our sculptures the baboons can also be placed outside in a garden setting or open landscaped area.

Other finishes are available upon request. Please contact us via email on for further details and pricing.
